Post Game Report - Game 8

The Fellas would lead off the second game of the series with a solid three runs. This was swiftly erased by a club record nineteen, yes (19) run first inning. Every Moby Dick would reach bas and score, with just only five batters not doing so twice.

Nick Caracappa hit the second grand slam of the night with Joe Perticone going yard again for a 3-run shot just three batters later. Eight of the next nine batters would collect hits and score followed by the next five to at least reach base then score.

Melville posted a zero the next half inning and would follow up with another 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd and a second scoreless frame in the third.

Captain Mike Barbarino would lead off the bottom half of the third with a towering blast to leave no doubt of the outcome of the series. For good measure Chris Ramaizel would do just the same thing the very next at-bat to deliver the dagger for their fourth home run in three innings. Fittingly, Jake Garziano hit a bullet to dead center over the fence for the third out of the inning due to the home run limit rule. The rookie still searches for his first career blast but it earned him his first game ball showing great skill and teamwork, serving as a regular pinch runner all evening.

Melville certainly would of liked to not have a blemish of six runs allowed in the next half inning but it would be a moot point as the eighteen run difference would clinch their second four inning mercy rule of the night and their third sweep of the season. They move to 7-1 on the year, sitting in first place and lead the league in offense with 156 runs scored.
