Post Game Report - Game 7
Melville arrived back at Cantiague Park for their earliest start time of the season on Tuesday for a Cinco de Mayo matchup with an old foe in The Fellas.
The evening started great, with a three run first inning, David Marmann's double being the big hit. Excitement tapered off with a quiet second inning, but when Melville came to bat in the top of the third, the flood gates opened to the tune of an eight runs as every Moby Dick came to bat and produced.
The Fellas would answer with three of their own runs in the bottom of the frame but it would factor little as their roof caved in shortly after. Arguably their best inning to date, a thirteen run onslaught with numerous highlights.
A Chris Ramaizel grand slam with Joe Perticone going back to back for his first of the season! Every single Moby Dick would reach base and score in the frame to give Melville an eighteen run advantage. The boys in blue would stamp out The Fellas in just four innings, triggering the mercy rule behind tremendous defensive efforts in every position, with David Marmann leading the way with a Jeter jump throw and even an impressive assist from his back.
This would represent Melville's first victory by mercy on the year.
