Post Game Report - Game 2
Umpires would call for a quick turnaround to game 2 due to time, as Melville stayed on the field as the home team and go for their second sweep in club history. Credit the Wolfpack for starting off hot with a 3 run first inning, as they would score in 5 straight innings in a back and forth battle.
3 lead changes in all, Melville stay on their toes defensively playing a far cleaner, more complete game. David Marmann and Mike Perticone showed very positive signs of chemistry with yet another double turned for their third of the evening, a club record.
Down 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, Chris Ramaizel stepped up to the plate with neighbors, Barbarino and Diasparra on base looking to avenge a previous strikeout. An excellent swing sent the ball deep into the Hicksville night as his 3-run homer would give Melville a lead they wouldn't give back, thanks in part by Tow's second 2-run homer of the evening coming three batters later.
This gave the Moby Dicks some serious confidence as they would post a 1-2-3 inning in the next half frame. Then another 4 runs in bottom half, highlighted by a Dan Miele single which would give him the first recorded cycle in Melville Moby Dicks history. Fittingly, Barbarino would handle a comebacker himself to close out his second win of the evening and sealing an impressive start to what should be an exciting season in Melville.
